James Franklin: Penn State remains 'psychotic' about 1-0 mentality in 2022
James Franklin is a firm believer of the 1-0 mentality for his team, so much so that he is driving his team crazy, according to the Athletic’s Audrey Snyder. To drive home his point, Franklin said the program is “psychotic” about the 1-0 mentality.

No. 11 Penn State has started the 2022 season 4-0 after several big wins. The Nittany Lions started the season with a 35-31 B1G road win versus Purdue in Week 1. Two weeks later, Penn State defeated Auburn in a big 41-12 road win in Week 3.
After two rough seasons, Franklin has been looking to revitalize Penn State as a consistent B1G title contender. Penn State finished the 2020 season with an overall record of 4-5.
This past season, the Nittany Lions accounted for an overall record of 7-6 with a 4-5 record in B1G play.
Penn State is coming off a 33-14 home win over Central Michigan in Week 4. The Nittany Lions are set to host Northwestern (1-3; 1-0) in Week 5.
