James Franklin told reporters Tuesday that he has been pleased with the physical development of starting QB Drew Allar.

The sophomore QB had a good game against Indiana. His first INT on the season was followed up with a beautiful ball to WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith for a huge late score. A Nittany Lions safety officially put the game away a few minutes later.

Franklin was asked Tuesday about Allar and how he’s developed from Week 1 until now. Here’s what he had to say:

Allar really struggled against Ohio State, but has shined the remainder of this season. He’s sitting at 16 touchdowns and 1 interception with 1,665 passing yards. And while doing so, he’s led Penn State to a strong 7-1 record.

Penn State draws Maryland next at 3:30 p.m. ET from College Park.
