Penn State running back Kaytron Allen lived up to his 4-star recruiting hype on Saturday with another stellar game. Allen rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, helping to boost a run game that struggled in the first half against Central Michigan.

For Penn State head coach James Franklin, Allen’s performance was dominant but unsurprising. Speaking to the press after the game, Franklin commented on Allen’s performance:

“I don’t think there’s anybody in that locker room that’s surprised with Kaytron’s success…He’s got really good vision, contact balance, and a really good understanding on how to set blocks up.”

Through 3 games this season, Allen has rushed for 106 yards off 23 carries and has scored 2 touchdowns. Last week on the road against Auburn, Allen scored on a 3-yard run in the closing minutes of the second quarter, and a 6-yard run in the third quarter.

Allen and the Lions will be back in action next weekend as they take on Northwestern on Saturday.
