James Franklin opened up his postgame press conference by thanking fans for sticking around to make a big home presence for the Week 13 matchup versus Michigan State. No. 11 Penn State defeated Michigan State 35-16 at home in front of a nearly soldout crowd at Beaver Stadium.

According to Franklin, most programs around the country “would die” for the type of attendance Nittany Lion fans produced on Thanksgiving Weekend.

Penn State accumulated 410 total yards on offense with 250 yards coming from the passing game. Nittany Lions senior quarterback Sean Clifford completed 19-of-24 of his passes for 202 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The defense of the Nittany Lions allowed only 254 total yards from the offense of the Spartans. Penn State also forced 3 turnovers from Michigan State.

Penn State finished the 2022 regular season with an overall record of 10-2 and a B1G record of 7-2.  The only losses from Penn State are the 41-17 road loss to No. 5 Michigan in Week 7 and the 44-31 home loss to No. 2 Ohio State in Week 9.

This is the first 10-win season for Penn State since 2019 when the Nittany Lions finished with an 11-2 overall record.
