James Franklin wanted to reaffirm his support for QB Sean Clifford at his weekly press conference. Clifford got booed at home during the Week 8 White Out game against Minnesota.

Clifford went on to finish the game with 295 yards passing and 4 touchdowns as Penn State blew out Minnesota 45-17.

Franklin mentioned that Clifford won B1G Offensive Player of the Week and had a long pause afterward.

Shortly after that, he was asked why Clifford doesn’t get as much support from the fans. Franklin made sure to let everyone know where he stands on that issue.

“I’m spending all of my energy into getting ready to play a really good Ohio State team on offense, defense, and special teams,” said Franklin. “I’m pouring all of my energy into loving and supporting my players and staff.”

Despite what the fans think, Clifford has 1,445 yards passing with 17 total touchdowns. Maybe the fanbase will be a little more supportive if he can lead Penn State to a win over Ohio State.
