Penn State will be getting a new AD this summer with Sandy Barbour announcing she will retire at the end of the school year. Barbour joined the Nittany Lions in 2014, the same year that James Franklin arrived on campus.

With a new AD on the horizon, Franklin was asked about the next AD following Wednesday’s practice. Asked about the qualities he hopes for in his next boss, Franklin was quick to say “bold and aggressive.”

Franklin also went on to say that he is hoping for a “national understanding” of the competition Penn State is facing. He is also hoping for the ability to get things done from a policy standpoint.

Onward State Sports shared Franklin’s comments:

During the 2021 season, Franklin inked a 10-year contract extension through 2031. Barring something drastic, Franklin and the new AD will be working alongside each other for a long time. Hopefully that relationship goes smoothly and produces even better results.
