What James Franklin said after Penn State defeated Appalachian State
Penn State needed overtime to get the first win of the season, knocking off Appalachian State 38-31 in Happy Valley.
The Nittany Lions had a two-touchdown lead in the second half but got outscored 28-14 in the fourth quarter, forcing the game into overtime. In the end, Penn State made one too many plays for the Mountaineers to pull off the upset.

Franklin mentions that there's always a game like this in the season that you have to grind out. That was Iowa last year, Minnesota the year before. "Most importantly, we found a way to get a tough win."
