When Micah Parsons signed with Penn State, it was a really big deal. The 5-star prospect was the type of player who could easily become one of the best defenders in the B1G and help transform the defense.

Parsons also has a do-it-all mentality, wanting to play snaps at nearly every position on the field. James Franklin, and Parsons, both confirmed that on Tuesday.

Franklin was asked about Parsons’ versatility and impact during his weekly press conference on Tuesday. The head coach couldn’t help but talk about all the ways his star linebacker wants to contribute on the field.

And on the wrestling mat, apparently.

“Micah wants to play linebacker, wants to play running back and wants to wrestle for Cael [Sanderson]. He wants to do it all yesterday,” Franklin said Tuesday. “He isn’t kidding around but he’s deadly serious.”

That’s quite a bit for the freshman linebacker. It’s not a bad problem to have, though.

After Franklin’s comments made it to social media, Parsons confirmed that he wants to do it all.

Parsons has 43 tackles this season, recording one for loss. He’s also recorded four quarterback hurries through the first eight games of the season.

Two weeks ago, Parsons recorded a career-high eight tackles against Indiana. Last weekend against Iowa, the freshman made seven stops in the victory.
