James Franklin says nobody is developing TEs like Penn State over the past decade
James Franklin has one of the best tight ends in all of college football on his team in Tyler Warren, who has 67 catches, 808 yards and 5 touchdowns. Warren is also one of the most versatile players in the entire country with 157 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns while also going 2-for-4 throwing the ball.
During a press conference on Monday, Franklin was talking about his program and said that there isn’t a team in the country that produces and develops tight ends like Penn State. He included the lineage of Nittany Lion TEs to cycle through over the past 10 years.
"There's no school in the country, no program in the country that is doing what we're doing with tight ends right now and really in the last 10 years," James Franklin said. "We're recruiting the best tight ends in the country, developing the best tight ends in the country."

Warren figures to be the next tight end to hear his name called in the NFL Draft, and he would join a handful of other former Penn State tight ends currently playing prominent roles in the NFL.
Pat Friermuth (Pittsburgh Steelers), Theo Johnson (New York Giants) and Mike Gesicki (Cincinnati Bengals) are all No.1 on their respective team’s depth charts, while Brenton Strange (Jacksonville Jaguars) is the No. 2 tight end in Jacksonville.
Warren and the Nittany Lions will be in action this weekend on the road as they take on Minnesota in a battle for the Governor’s Cup. Kickoff is scheduled in that game for 3:30 p.m. ET and it will be aired on CBS.
