James Franklin talks Kinnick Stadium atmosphere, Iowa's 'special' defense
Even a 51-14 victory over Maryland last Friday night could get Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz to go a little crazy.
In his post game press conference, Ferentz emphasized the need for his team to keep a level head even with their rise in the rankings. The No. 3 Hawkeyes are undefeated, and while the road win was impressive, they’ll have their hands full when one of the other B1G undefeateds, Penn State, makes their way to Iowa City for a Saturday afternoon showdown.
Penn State coach James Franklin is aware of what the Nittany Lions are up against, and the Kinnick Stadium crowd will certainly be a factor and the hype for the top-5 showdown will be in full gear.
#PSU coach James Franklin on playing at Kinnick Stadium: "The sidelines are tight. They are right on top of you. And kind of like our stadium, you've had fans who have had season tickets forever. We've started to build a relationship with those people. You know their names."

Franklin is impressed with the progress Ferentz has made with the Iowa program, and thinks it’s time that more people take notice.
Franklin: "There should be more people studying Iowa and Coach Ferentz and what he's been able to do."
