James Franklin’s regularly-scheduled tweet is not going over well with fans

Things are not going well for James Franklin after Penn State’s stunning upset loss to Illinois.
Over the weekend, Bret Bielema’s Illini squad rolled into Happy Valley and rushed for over 300 yards. It was the work of Chase Brown that led the way as a banged-up Nittany Lion team was unable to pull off the win in overtime.
On Sunday, Franklin put out his traditional tweet to start the week. It’s simple in nature, and the purpose of Franklin’s tweet is to emphasize a focus on the present task at hand.

Unfortunately for Franklin, it is not something fans have taken kindly to this week. Many even let their feelings and frustrations be known on social media.

Too many distractions with USC and LSU… should have put those rumors to rest immediately

Terrible loss this week coach, team not prepared. Not 1 play designed for Dotson in 9 OT’s. Coaches need to step up your game

You need some big men in the trenches. You can't expect 250 lbs to be able to move those big 325 lbs with the same muscle strength

No way LSU goes for Franklin his in game coaching won’t cut it In that league..maybe USC will still be interested but Franklin won’t be able to compete with Oregon in the Pac 12 and he won’t last very long there

You lost to a bad Illini team
Give u a pass on Iowa.
QB goes down and you had an I'll prepared backup , it's on you too.
But Illinois?

Though fans are disappointed now, Penn State does have a chance to turn things around quickly in Week 9. An upset of Ohio State would do wonders, even if it seems like a massive undertaking at this point.
