Joel Klatt previewed the upcoming Penn State-Ohio State matchup on “The Joel Klatt Show” this week, and said the two sides are actually similar in their makeup.

“They are uniquely built to face each other, they are similar styles of teams,” Klatt said. “They believe in athletes and length and athleticism.”

Klatt went on to say that James Franklin has constructed his roster in order to combat Ohio State, as the Buckeyes were the premier team in the league when he first arrived at Penn State.

“That’s the team that you had to go beat,” Klatt said. “Michigan had to do the same thing, but they took a different road. Penn State is going to try to match their athleticism and speed and beat them at what can only be described as their own game.”

Klatt added that Michigan opted to just bulk up in the trenches and act as a boa constrictor of sorts when it plays OSU, sucking the life out of the flashier team.

“This team is deep, they have really good players all over the field,” Klatt said. “This is a team that could be ‘ready,’ it could be ‘the time.'”
