Joey Porter Jr. has been a menace for Penn State this season, anchoring the Nittany Lions’ solid defense. He’s held up just fine in coverage all season long.

A recent PFF stat revealed just how dominant Porter has been this season.

Porter has allowed just 11 receptions and has forced 10 incompletions on the season. Very few balls that come his way are completions, the stat proved. Porter has also recorded 16 tackles and deflected 8 passes.

Porter is in his fourth season with Penn State. Last season, he recorded 40 tackles, 4 pass deflections and 1 interception.

With the help of Porter’s defense, Penn State has jumped out to a 6-1 start with its only loss coming top top-ranked Michigan. The Nittany Lions defense is allowing 18.9 points per game.

Next week, Penn State will get a big test as it takes on rival Ohio State. We’ll see if Porter is able to keep up his great year against some particularly elite WRs.
