Joey Porter Jr. recently took to Twitter to announce his intentions for Penn State’s bowl game and beyond.

Porter’s post mentions that he will indeed be skipping the bowl game to prepare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Porter thanked his dad, Joey Porter Sr., for “introducing me to the game I love.” Porter also thanked “every member of the Penn State community” and said his team in Happy Valley “has been nothing short of a blessing”.

“After careful though, I have decided to forego our bowl game and declare the 2023 NFL Draft,” said Porter. “From one dream to the next, I am excited to continue this next chapter.”

Porter finished the 2022 season with 27 tackles, 11 passes defended, and 1 fumble recovery. Porter was part of a talented DB room at Penn State, which finished the 2022 season with the 2nd-best opponent passer rating allowed.

Porter finishes his Nittany Lion career with 113 tackles, 1 INT, and 20 passes defended. Porter is projected by many to be a 1st-round pick in what should be a loaded 2023 NFL Draft class.
