LaVar Arrington hypes Penn State ahead of Big Ten Championship Game vs. Oregon
LaVar Arrington is one of the most legendary figures in Penn State history. The linebacker starred for the Nittany Lions in the late 1990s before going on to star in the NFL.
On Saturday, Arrington posted a video to social media showing how pumped up he is for the Big Ten Championship. The former player delivered a message to Penn State players and fans ahead of the much-anticipated game.
“Nobody believed in us but us,” said Arrington. “We’re here. Big Ten, it’s the championship.”
The Nittany Lions earned a spot in the game after Ohio State was upset by Michigan in the regular season finale. A loss to Ohio State is the only blemish on Penn State’s resume so far.
“Everybody thinks Oregon has got some Duck power on us,” Arrington said. “But we’re about to show them how Ducks fare against Nittany Lions.”
The Ducks enter this matchup as the only undefeated team in the FBS. A move from the Pac-12 to the B1G hasn’t slowed Oregon down at all with the team seeking to win the conference in their first season as a member.
Penn State, meanwhile, enters this game with an 11-1 record. The team is looking for their first Big Ten Championship since the 2016 season.
“LET’S GO GET THIS! LET’S GO GET THIS THING, BABY!” said Arrington.

Penn State and Oregon have played 4 times in history. The Nittany Lions won 3 of those 4 matchups, with the last meeting taking place in the 1995 Rose Bowl.
The new conference rivals will kick off from Indianapolis on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
