A Penn State assistant coach has earned a pretty high honor, being the featured face of ESPN Magazine’s “College Football Forty Under Forty.”

Ricky Rahne, Penn State’s offensive coordinator, was featured on the latest ESPN Magazine issue, which highlights the top 40 names in college football.

Rahne is entering his first season as the offensive coordinator with the Nittany Lions, receiving the promotion after Joe Moorhead took the head coaching job at Mississippi State. But Rahne isn’t exactly in unfamiliar territory.

James Franklin has kept Rahne on his staff since his days at Vanderbilt. Rahne served as the quarterbacks coach for the Commodores from 2011-2013 before moving to Happy Valley with Franklin. He’s been the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Lions since 2014.

Rahne has big shoes to fill after Moorhead propelled Penn State’s offense to become one of the best in the country.
