A few days after landing its first win of the 2018 college football season, Penn State has landed on the cover of one of the most popular sports magazines.

Sports Illustrated released its latest issue this week and on the cover is Nittany Lions running back Miles Sanders, staring into a crowd of excited fans after a touchdown run. It really could serve as a collector’s item for the PSU diehards out there.

Penn State’s Week 1 game certainly was exciting, as Appalachian State took the Nittany Lions to overtime and pushed one of the nation’s top programs to the brink.

But a touchdown run from Sanders in overtime and an interception from Amani Oruwariye pushed Penn State past the Mountaineers and escaped Happy Valley with a win.

The test gets even tougher for James Franklin and Co. this week, as Penn State gears up for in-state rival Pitt. The game will air in the primetime hour on ABC.

Penn State and Pitt have split their last two meetings with the Panthers winning in 2016 and the Nittany Lions taking the 2017 matchup.
