Penn State RB announces he's transferring
That’s four this week.
Penn State running back Akeel Lynch announced via Twitter that he’ll transfer for his final year of eligibility, making him the fourth Lion in the last three days to do so.

Lynch was a likely candidate to transfer given the youthful talent Penn State has at tailback. Saquon Barkley was named Pro Football Focus’ top true freshman in America after a 1,000-yard season in which he played nine games.
Penn State also has a commitment from four-star running back Miles Sanders, who is the second-rated tailback in the 2016 class.
Lynch’s 2015 season was plagued by injuries and the emergence of Barkley. He rushed for 282 yards on 55 carries in limited action. As a sophomore in 2014, Lynch was the team’s leading rusher with 678 yards.
He’ll follow in the footsteps of teammate Geno Lewis, who also announced this week that he’ll transfer for his final year of eligibility in hopes of earning a more prominent role in 2016. Penn State had defenders Troy Reeder and Daquan Worley announce their transfers on Tuesday.
The Lions also had four-star defensive tackle Karamo Dioubate decommitted at the end of last week.
All of that, along with the three coaches that left the program, has made for an eventful week in Happy Valley.
