Manny Diaz’s defense had a great showing against Auburn on Saturday. He made On3 Sports’ list of the top coordinator performances from Week 3.

On3 Sports picked a coordinator from each Power 5 conference, and one Group of 5 coordinator.

Diaz had the best performance out of all the coordinators from the B1G, according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports. Diaz’s defense stopped the Auburn attack in a 41-12 win. The Penn State defense forced 4 turnovers, and also had 6 sacks and 11 tackles for loss.

The Penn State defense has shown some improvements since the season opener. After letting up 31 points against Purdue, Diaz’s defense has allowed 10 points to Ohio and 12 points to Auburn in its last two games.

The defense will get another tune-up game against a Group of 5 school with Central Michigan coming to town, before taking on Northwestern in its next B1G game. It’s very early, but Diaz is off to a good start in his Penn State coaching career.

Penn State and Central Michigan kick off at noon ET on BTN this Saturday.
