The 2019 meeting between Maryland and Penn State will now be a Friday night affair.

Both programs announced on Monday that the 2019 clash between the Terrapins and Nittany Lions will be held on Friday, Sept. 27 in College Park. It was previously scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28. No kickoff time has yet been announced.

It will be Maryland’s first B1G Friday night game. The matchup will also serve as the B1G opener for both teams.

The B1G has put an emphasis on scheduling a few Friday night games throughout the season. Penn State opened conference play in 2018 with a Friday night game against Illinois.

Maryland and Penn State will meet for the 43rd time in 2019, with the Nittany Lions dominating the all-time series 39-2-1. The Terrapins’ last win in the series came in 2014. Last season, Penn State posted a 38-3 victory in the last week of the year.
