If you watched any of Penn State’s games during the 2019 season, it wasn’t difficult to see why KJ Hamler was considered to be one of the top playmakers in the B1G. The wide receiver was often referred to as the “human joystick.”

Hamler provided plenty of exciting moments on the field last fall on his way to 904 receiving yards and eight touchdown catches during Penn State’s 11-2 season. NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. expects that to translate over to the NFL.

In a recent podcast episode of First Draft, Kiper labeled Hamler as “Mr. Excitement” of the 2020 NFL Draft.

“Talk about explosiveness and versatility, KJ Hamler from Penn State,” Kiper said. “We’ll see how he tests. But he is the guy that’s ‘Mr. Excitement.’ If you’re looking for guys that haven’t been discussed as much as the top guys, I’d go Hamler and Id’ go [USC receiver] Michael Pittman Jr.”

Because of his incredible versatility, Hamler was often utilized in Penn State’s kick return game and occasionally used in the rushing attack. He leaves Penn State with over 3,000 all-purpose yards in his two seasons, accounting for 14 touchdowns, as well.

Hamler decided to declare for the NFL Draft following the 2019 campaign.
