Micah Parsons is heading to Dallas.

The former Penn State linebacker slipped just outside the Top 10, but was taken with the No. 12 overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Cowboys. He was the second B1G player selected, behind former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields (No. 11, Chicago Bears).

Many argued that Parsons was the best defensive player in this year’s draft class and was one of the top linebackers in recent memory.

Parsons spent two seasons at Penn State, committing to the program as a 5-star member of the 2018 recruiting class. In those two years, the linebacker piled up 191 tackles, 18 for loss, 6.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 5 pass break-ups.

In 2019, Parsons eclipsed the 100-tackle mark, totaling 109 stops in 13 games.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Parsons opted out of the 2020 season and began training for his career in the NFL. His decision didn’t have much of an affect on his draft status, as he was always considered to be a first-round pick.
