Micah Parsons hilariously botches ceremonial puck drop at Hershey Bears game

Micah Parsons will remember this one for a while, and he’ll likely receive some good-natured ribbing.
Parsons, a Dallas Cowboys linebacker and former Penn State star, took part in Sunday’s game between the Hershey Bears and the Syracuse Crunch with a ceremonial puck drop.
Parsons evidently didn’t realize that during a pre-game puck drop, you wait for a player from each team. But as you can see in the video below, Parsons dropped the puck prematurely and didn’t understand what all the fuss was about.
The Bears later apologized for not fully explaining how the puck drop is supposed to work. And the 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year got a second chance to do a traditional puck drop before he quickly turned around and walked back through the tunnel.
Thanks for coming last night, @MicahhParsons11!
We are so sorry for not explaining how a puck drop works. That one is on us. Our bad. pic.twitter.com/WESn2ahUkd

It’s been a busy week for ceremonies for Parsons as his hometown, the city of Harrisburg, gave him a second key to the city, as the city wrote on social media that Parsons said he lost the first one.
We are beyond excited to announce Mayor Williams will present @MicahhParsons11 with the Key to the City on Tuesday at 1pm at the MLK City Govt Center. The public is welcome to come!
Yes, this is Micah’s 2nd key. He says he lost the first one! /1
