The Defensive Player of the Month award is the first for Parsons, but he was named Defensive Rookie of the Month twice his rookie season. Parsons is the 4th Cowboy ever to receive a Defensive Player of the Month Award.
The 3rd-year player out of Penn State has already put together quite the career, recording 161 tackles and 30.5 sacks in his first 3 seasons, landing on 2 Pro Bowl teams and well on his way to a third.
Parsons played 2 seasons at Penn State before making it to the NFL. In college, he recorded 99 tackles and 6.5 sacks before being drafted 12th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys are off to a 2-1 start to the season and are looking to shake off a loss to the Arizona Cardinals this week as they take on the New England Patriots.
