Micah Parsons has lived through the White Out atmosphere during his time at Penn State. Now as one of the game-wrecking defenders in the NFL, Parsons recently touched on what it’s like to play in the iconic game at Beaver Stadium.

Parsons admitted the game is “eye-opening” for those who have never experienced a White Out before. He used an episode of SpongeBob to describe what it’s like for players and fans that have never seen it before.

“It’s so eye-opening, some of these people. I put it like this: You ever watch SpongeBob? It was when him and Patrick were saving Bikini Bottom and they were in that bowl and they were singing and the singing like popped off the plankton helmets and you looked around and it’s that amazing atmosphere,” said Parsons. “That’s kind of what it’s like.”

As for the ranking of the White Out atmosphere, Parsons said nothing in the NFL can match the electricity of the scene in Happy Valley.

“I just think you really can’t compare to it. Even here in Dallas, I think I’ve got the top fanbase in the NFL, at least top 3 in the league of just how stadiums are,” Parsons claimed. “But nah, there’s just nothing like the all-white and it’s just right on top of you… This is just so electric, there’s just nothing like it and I wish I could go back to a White Out game right now.”

This season, Penn State will face Iowa in a primetime White Out Saturday night. The Nittany Lions are favored in that game, and the White Out should only magnify the team’s chances.
