Micah Shrewsberry spoke after Penn State beat Illinois 74-59 in Champaign. He was feeling proud of his team after recent losses in their last two games.

Penn State recently lost to Clemson and Michigan State in its last two games. The Nittany Lions used great performances from Andrew Funk, Jalen Pickett, Seth Lundy, and Myles Dread to get the win over the Fighting Illini.

In the post game interview Shrewsberry stated that he felt proud about his team’s resolve.

“They just showed toughness man. That’s it,” said Shrewsberry. “The resolve that we have after losing two games, to come in here in one of the hardest places to win in our league, they showed toughness.”

Shrewsberry definitely understands how difficult it can be to win in Champaign. Penn State travels back home to take on Canisius next on Dec. 18. That game will be broadcast on BTN and tipoff at noon ET.
