This Sunday was a big milestone passed by Penn State basketball and for first-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry. Penn State got their first B1G win of the season as the Nittany Lions upset Indiana at home 61-58.

Despite losing the turnover battle 13-to-6, Penn State was more efficient shooting the ball and was able to outrebound Indiana 39-to-29. Penn State shot 21-of-51 (39.7%) in field goals and  11-of-22 (50%) from the three-point arc. The Nittany Lions held Indiana to 39.7% shooting from field goals (23-of-58) and 23.5% from the three-point arc (4-of-17).

Penn State guard Jalen Pickett led the team in points scored with 15. Guard Myles Dread and guard Sam Sessoms combined for 22 points coming off the bench. Dread was 4-of-5 in his shots taken with all of them coming from the three-point arc.

This win over Indiana is Shrewsberry’s first B1G win as head coach for Penn State after being an assistant for Purdue in the two seasons.
