Micah Shrewsberry has left the Penn State program after a swift turnaround, heading back to the Midwest to take the Notre Dame head coaching job.

In the process, Shrewsberry is reportedly taking a couple of pieces of his Penn State staff with him to the Irish. According to Jeff Goodman with Stadium, Shrewsberry is bringing Mike Farrelly with him to Notre Dame.

Farrelly was a key assistant for Shrewsberry during his two seasons at Penn State. The assistant coach was cited as an integral part of the recruiting process with the Nittany Lions thriving on the recruiting trail under Shrewsberry.

Goodman also reported Brian Snow — Penn State’s director of recruiting under Shrewsberry — will also join the Irish. Under Snow’s direction, the Nittany Lions signed the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history.
