Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki made sure to honor National Tight Ends Day with a touchdown reception against the Falcons.

While Miami was inside the 10-yard-line, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa found Gesicki in the end zone as he made an outstanding contested catch in double coverage. It ended up cutting the Falcons lead down to 20-14.

Coming into this season, Gesicki had been one of the more productive tight ends around the NFL. He finished with 703 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns on 53 receptions for the 2020 season. He was also almost as good during the 2019 season as he finished with 570 yards with 5 touchdown passes on 51 catches.

He’s on pace to potentially shatter those numbers this season as Gesicki already has 342 yards on 30 catches, plus a touchdown grab. That’s all while the Dolphins have been 1-5 to start the season.

Miami’s game against Atlanta is currently in the 4th quarter as the Falcons still hold that 20-14 lead.
