Mike Gesicki hit his stride in his second NFL season, and he capped the year with a game-winning play!

After 202 yards as a rookie in 2018, the Penn State product and second-round draft pick more than doubled his production this season. Entering Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, Gesicki had 536 yards on the season with four touchdowns. That includes a multi-touchdown performance against the Cincinnati Bengals.

During the season finale against the Patriots, Gesicki recorded four more catches for 34 yards and a touchdown. He also saved his best play for the very end.

With less than a minute to go, Gesicki cut across the back of the endzone in man-to-man coverage. He had a step on his defender, and Ryan Fitzpatrick found him over the middle for the go-ahead score.

New England was left without time to respond, making Gesick’s score the game-winner:

Gesicki definitely made a jump in his second year, and it has to feel extra special to go out with a big-time clutch play in the season finale. What will 2020 have in store for the talented tight end?
