Mike Yurcich is ready for one part of Penn State’s offense to make a big jump this season. On Saturday, Yurcich revealed that he believes the Nittany Lions improved the most in their rushing offense this off-season.
That would be a welcome relief for Penn State after last season. Penn State finished with the 118th ranked rushing offense, 13th in the B1G, averaging 107.8 rushing yards per game in 2021. with the offensive line as one reason for the lack of efficiency in the rushing.
Is there one thing that Penn State has definitely improved on this offseason?
Yes, Yurcich said. The run game.

The Nittany Lions also didn’t have a single rusher last season account for a 100-yard rushing performance in a game. They return their starter in sophomore Keyvone Lee, who rushed for 530 yards and 2 touchdowns on 108 carries last season.
Coach Yurcich is looking to the potential of true freshman running back Nick Singleton, who was the top-rated running back in the 2022 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite. Singleton is the highest-rated running back Penn State has signed since Miles Sanders in the 2016 class.
MY: Singleton is "a very gifted runner." Sharing a lot of reps in backfield. Singleton has special talent, but has to progress in "protections and fundamentals of running back play."

Yurcich: "I like where we're at from an offensive line perspective…those guys have been very physical, their attitude has been exceptional, and their effort's been tremendous."
