Mitchell Tinsley and Kaytron Allen both made incredible plays to set up a Nittany Lion’s TD.

Allen, the true freshman RB, received a handoff that looked destined to get stuffed before Allen made a juke move and then proceeded to truck the Minnesota defender, gaining enough yardage for a 1st down. Allen was the most productive Penn State RB in the first half, so we’ll see if the Nittany Lions go back to him or try and get Nick Singleton rolling after the break.

Just a few plays later, WR Mitchell Tinsley made his own incredible play. Tinsley made a spectacular one-handed grab as he was falling down near the sidelines. Somehow, Tinsley was able to hold onto the ball and survive the ground.

Those 2 plays were crucial 1st downs for the Nittany Lions, who ended up scoring on the drive. The score came on an 18-yard pass to TE Theo Johnson to put the Nittany Lions up 17-3.

Minnesota closed out the half with a long, sustained touchdown drive to make it 17-10 at the break. It should be a great second half in the White Out.
