Mr. Popular: Penn State WR Jahan Dotson says ridiculous one-handed grab resulted in overload of texts
Jahan Dotson was responsible for one of the most insane catches of the college football season on Saturday night. No, it didn’t lead to a win for Penn State over Ohio State, but the spectacular grab did result in a barrage of text messages.
A few days after the game, with Dotson having more time to think about his impressive catch, he was asked what the response was like after making the play against the Buckeyes. He says is phone exploded with text messages after the game.
“My phone was insane,” Dotson said, per Audrey Snyder of The Athletic. “I tried to respond to everyone and hopefully I did.”
Below is the clip of Dotson’s catch on Saturday night, which resulted in a touchdown and kept the Nittany Lions alive late in the game. It came right after another impressive grab, hauling in a pass as he was falling to the ground.

Dotson had a huge night for the Nittany Lions. He totaled 8 catches for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 38-25 loss to the Buckeyes. Still, he has definitely emerged as the No. 1 target in Penn State’s passing attack.
On the year, Dotson has been credited with 12 receptions for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns. This week, the Nittany Lions are back in action against Maryland.
