Nicholas Singleton climbs Penn State's all-time record books with Orange Bowl TD
Nicholas Singleton has been a touchdown machine during his college career at Penn State. On Thursday in the Orange Bowl matchup with Notre Dame, Singleton scored again and moved himself further up the all-time school leaderboard.
With just over 2 minutes to play in the first half, neither team had scored a TD. Then, Singleton got the ball from the 5-yard line and found the end zone to put the Nittany Lions up 10-0 after the extra point. The score was Singleton’s 39th for Penn State, which moves the RB to No. 3 in school history.

The score was Singleton’s 15th of the 2024 season. The RB now has 10 rushing scores and 5 receiving TDs on the season.
At the half, the Nittany Lions are maintaining a 10-3 lead over the Irish. Singleton has 10 rushes for 52 yards and 1 TD while fellow RB Kaytron Allen has 13 rushes for 63 yards. The running game has been strong for the Nittany Lions but the passing attack has struggled. Drew Allar is 5 of 13 for just 53 yards at the half.
The Penn State defense was dominant in the first half. The unit held the Irish to 122 total yards and forced 1 turnover.
The winner of this game will advance to the national championship game against the winner of the Ohio State-Texas matchup.
