Nicholas Singleton ices Penn State's Fiesta Bowl win with 58-yard TD run
Nicholas Singleton, welcome to Penn State history.
With the Nittany Lions nursing a 10-point lead late in the 4th quarter on Tuesday night against Boise State, Singleton raced right through the heart of the Broncos’ defense to effectively seal Penn State’s win.
Here’s a clip that essentially clinched a spot in the CFP semifinals for Penn State:

Singleton had struggled prior to breaking off the game-changing 58-yard run. Instead, it was Kaytron Allen who had the bulk of the success on the ground for Penn State. He rushed for 112 yards on his first 13 carries of the night, averaging 8.6 yards a clip.
Penn State will now face the winner of Georgia or Notre Dame in the semifinals. The Nittany Lions are likely to be an underdog in either matchup, particularly with how they struggled offensively for much of the night vs. Boise. Drew Allar threw for just 162 yards on 24 attempts before garbage time began.
However, the running game was still plenty productive for Penn State. It will be interesting to see if the Nittany Lions can replicate that moving forward into the next round.
