Jim Harbaugh’s sleepover buddy is no longer committed to Penn State.

Quinn Nordin, the nation’s top kicker, announced he’s opening up his recruitment a week before National Signing Day.

Nordin’s official visit was sparked because of his relationship with former Michigan special teams coach John Baxter, who left to take the job at USC.

He recruited Nordin before leaving for USC, which was what led to Harbaugh taking over the recruitment efforts. Harbaugh, of course, spent the night at Nordin’s house and hosted him in Ann Arbor for his official visit a couple weeks ago.

Despite the announcement and pending visit to USC, Michigan and even Penn State, could still be in the mix.

Penn State might’ve already been bracing for a possible change of heart. Three-star kicker Alex Barbir announced his commitment to the Lions on Tuesday. Barbir is the seventh-rated kicker in the 2016 class.
