Officials miss apparent false start by Arkansas O-line on key 4th-down conversion
Penn State is not having a banner start to the Outback Bowl. However, it was the officials that appeared to miss a key call during Arkansas’ touchdown drive late in the first quarter.
The Razorbacks converted on a couple of key 4th-down plays during their drive to keep things rolling. One of those came inside the 10-yard line as Arkansas hurried to the line on the 4th-and-short.
Prior to the snap, it appeared that multiple offensive linemen flinched and moved for the Razorbacks. Penn State’s Jesse Luketa and others saw the movement and tried to draw attention to the infraction, but the officiating crew did not throw a flag.
Arkansas easily converted around the left side of the play.

Following the conversion, Arkansas hurried to the line once again and scored on a short rushing touchdown to make it 7-0. While it was a missed call, it will not matter much if Penn State’s offense cannot figure out how to move the ball effectively against the Razorbacks.
