Penn State’s basketball team received some major news on Wednesday night, as Lamar Stevens announced via Twitter that he will be returning to State College for his senior season.
Stevens entered his name in the NBA Draft following the 2018-19 season and took all of the allotted time to determine which move would be in his best interest. Ultimately, the 6-foot-8 forward settled on a return to Penn State for one more year.

Last season, Stevens was a first-team All-B1G selection by the media after averaging 21.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Following his big year, Stevens now ranks fifth all-time in scoring at Penn State with 1,660 through three years.
Though Penn State finished the year 14-18 and jus 7-13 in B1G play, Stevens helped the Nittany Lions notch upset wins over Virginia Tech, Michigan and Maryland.
Stevens will be one of the B1G’s top returning players for the 2019-20 season.
