Penn State this season had high expectations and then fell off down the stretch ending the season 7-6 and 4-5 in B1G play. They lost the Outback Bowl to No. 21 Arkansas 24-10.
Oregon had a good season finishing the year 10-4 and 7-3 in Pac-12 play, and if it weren’t for Utah, they could have played in the Rose Bowl game or potentially the College Football Playoff. They lost the Valero Alamo Bowl 47-32 against No. 16 Oklahoma.
Oregon lost its coach to Miami before the end of the season, as Mario Cristobal is going back home to coach his alma mater.
