Pair of Penn State players not seen in pads during warmups
Ahead of Penn State’s Week 2 matchup against Ohio, two tight ends were seen not in pads during warmups per The Athletic’s Audrey Snyder.
Theo Johnson and Jerry Cross were both seen not wearing pads, per Audrey Snyder of The Athletic.
Johnson, a sophomore, and Cross, a freshman, both had no receptions in Week 1 against Purdue, so hopefully for Penn State the loss won’t do too much damage.
Brenton Strange will be to have a repeat performance of his Week 1 showing against Purdue. He had 2 receptions for 77 yards and 1 touchdown against the Boilermakers.
Last season, Johnson had 19 receptions for 213 yards and a touchdown.
Penn State had a forgetful 7-6 year a season ago after starting off the year 5-0. It will look to right the ship this season and it is off to a good start with a win in Week 1.
The Nittany Lions take on the Bobcats at 12 p.m. ET and the game is on ESPN.
