Penn State has incredible history behind it when it comes to football.

That incredible history has had its blemishes, though. Penn State, a few years ago, was dealing with the affects of a devastating scandal. It has since seem to overcome that and is one of the premier football programs year in and year out once again.

Why? How has the program transitioned through what was probably its darkest age so seemlessly?

Just look at head coach James Franklin. Franklin has helped Penn State in numerous ways and in an interview with Big Ten Network’s Mike Hall, Sandy Barbour — Penn State’s Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics — talked about just how great Franklin is.

At one point, she called him “the best college football coach on the planet.”
