Penn State hoops earned another commitment Wednesday afternoon, landing a pledge from former UMKC star RayQuawndis Mitchell.

Mitchell is the 7th incoming transfer for the Nittany Lions this season, joining the likes of Ace Baldwin (VCU), Leo O’Boyle (Lafayette), Puff Johnson (UNC) and more.

For that reason, the Nittany Lions will look almost completely different next season, down to new head coach Mike Rhoades out of VCU.

As for Mitchell, he brings a lot to the table for the Nittany Lions. This will be his 4th school in college and first Power 6 stop, having played at UMKC, Idaho and Illinois Chicago.

He played exceptionally well at UMKC, too, averaging over 18 points per game, though not in the most efficient manner. Mitchell hit at a 34.5% clip in 2022-23.

He will have just 1 season of eligibility remaining with the Nittany Lions.
