Penn State has added three opponents to its future schedules, the school announced on Thursday. All three games will be played at Beaver Stadium.
The Nittany Lions have added Kent State to the 2024 nonconference schedule, and Marshall and San Jose State to the 2026 slate. The game against Kent State is a rescheduled contest that was supposed to be played in 2020, but was called off due to the pandemic.
Dates for the three future games are:
- Sept. 21, 2024: vs. Kent State
- Sept. 5, 2026: vs. Marshall
- Sept. 19, 2026: vs. San Jose State
Penn State has played Kent State six times, winning all six contests. The last game was played in 2018, with the Nittany Lions cruising to a 63-10 victory, its largest margin ever against the Golden Flashes.
It will be the third meeting between Penn State and Marshall in 2016, with the Lions winning both contests. It’s been nearly a century since the two teams last met, playing in 1929 and 1930.
Penn State has never played San Jose State.
Last year, the Nittany Lions finished with a 4-5 record.
