Cool moment here.

Former Ole Miss and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning stopped by practice at Penn State for a special announcement Thursday. The QB was first introduced by head coach James Franklin.

The two-time Super Bowl champion awarded punter Barney Amor with a scholarship. The redshirt senior was then mobbed by his teammates in celebration.

Amor comes to Penn State after a career at Colgate. The Pennsylvania native was the Raiders’ primary punter in all 12 games during the 2019 season.

Amor averaged just over 42 yards per punt with a long of 60, including 11 punts of 50+ yards. Moreover, 17 of his punts landed inside the 20. Colgate did not play in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Amor did not see any game action for Penn State in 2021. That makes the gesture by Manning and Penn State a bit more sweet.

Maybe Amor will help Penn State in the special teams game? He certainly seems to have the leg to make an impact.
