Penn State struggled against Central Michigan in the first half, and got an opportunity to correct those mistakes early in the third quarter.

The Central Michigan returner called for a fair catch, and could not catch the ball. Penn State recovered the muffed punt in positive territory.

Sean Clifford found Brenton Strange shortly after for the touchdown. Strange found himself open on a play action pass, and made Central Michigan pay for it.

Penn State is now leading by 13 points after the extra point was blocked following the score. James Franklin’s halftime speech must have motivated his team to play a little better in the second half.

Nick Singleton is still struggling to find some running room, but that hasn’t been a big factor so far.

We’ll see if Penn State can build off of this momentum to increase its lead against Central Michigan.
