Penn State commit Daequan Hardy is bringing some hardware to State College with him.

Saturday night, Hardy was named the winner of the Big-School Mr. PA Football Award after an outstanding senior season. He helped guide his Penn Hills squad to a 5A state title in December.

Hardy was an all-conference selection at both defensive back and wide receiver this fall, making a strong impression across the state. His biggest performance of the season came in the state championship game, scoring four touchdowns in the victory, including a 100-yard pick-six.

In addition to Penn State, Hardy had offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska and others.

Hardy, a 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete, is listed as a three-star cornerback out of Pittsburgh. He signed with the Nittany Lions on National Signing Day just over a week ago.
