Penn State and Ohio State are facing off in the game of the week for college football. With a top-5 ranking on either side, the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes are meeting in a game of major postseason ramifications.

As a result, both ESPN’s College GameDay and FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff were in town for the event. It is not completely rare for both pre-game shows to share a destination, but it has not occurred on a regular basis.

At one point in GameDay’s coverage, the crew began breaking down the matchup between Wisconsin and Iowa, a meeting that will come in primetime for the Hawkeyes at home inside Kinnick Stadium. It was not lost on the crew that Ohio State vs. Penn State has regularly been played in the 12 pm ET time slot in the era of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff, but it’s a decision that has ruffled the feathers of some fans.

The Nittany Lions certainly understand their home-field advantage of Beaver Stadium under the lights. They also let their feelings be heard Saturday morning as it relates to FOX’s noon window.

“Night games are fun!” proclaimed Pat McAfee as an “F— Big Noon” chant erupted from the Penn State crowd.

“I think they would prefer a little bit of a later start,” said Rece Davis.

“We used to love calling this game at night,” added Kirk Herbstreit. “It was fun!”

Here’s the clip from Saturday:

It’s another polarizing aspect of the Big Ten’s new media rights deal between FOX, CBS and  NBC. FOX traditionally garners a major matchup for the Big Noon slot, and that has left Ohio State vs. Penn State to be played early on a regular basis.

We’ll see if Penn State and Ohio State get the game played later down the road, but it’s on FOX at 12 pm again this season.
