A 4-star piece of Penn State’s 2021 recruiting class is going to be investigating the transfer portal.

The player is Davon Townley, a 4-star defensive lineman out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the 2021 recruiting class, Townley was the No. 40 DL nationally and No. 3 player out of Minnesota.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for bringing me this far and giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love,” wrote Townley on social media. “I would also like to thank Coach Franklin, Coach Scott and the whole Penn State coaching staff…

“After much prayer and consideration as well as many conversations with my family, I would like to announce that I will be entering the transfer portal.”

As a redshirt freshman in 2022, Townley was mainly a reserve piece for the Nittany Lions with 3 tackles on the season.
