Penn State dials up double pass to Tyler Warren in latest trick-play masterpiece
Penn State tight end Tyler Warren might just be one of the most dangerous players in all of college football. The do-it-all star is used in a variety of ways for the Nittany Lions, and it enables offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki to dial up some fun formations.
One of those was used in the first half against Purdue. Penn State was already in complete control, but the highlight began with Warren lined up in a Wildcat formation, something that is not uncommon for the TE.
Warren started the play with a backwards pass to Drew Allar, but the ball was not out of Warren’s hands for long. Penn State’s traditional quarterback fired the ball right back in a TE screen to Warren with a convoy of blockers lined up.
While the play didn’t go for a touchdown, Warren carried it deep into the red zone and set up a touchdown for running back Nicholas Singleton.

With Saturday’s game approaching halftime, Warren has already eclipsed the 100-yard mark once again. He also has an 8-yard carry for Penn State as one of the true workhorse pieces of Penn State’s offense.
We’ll see how Warren rounds out his performance in the second half.
