“Although much of my time in college was spent battling injury, my experience as a Penn State student-athlete was better than I could have ever imagined,” Hawkins said. “I will always cherish the opportunities, experiences and growth-demanding environments the game of football brings. I will cherish these memories forever.”
Hawkins is planning to graduate in the summer with a degree in broadcast journalism. Hawkins played in only two games during a career at Penn State which spanned four seasons.
Penn State finished the season with a 7-6 record, a bounce-back winning campaign after posting a 4-5 record during the pandemic shortened 2020 season. The Nittany Lions lost 24-10 to Arkansas in the Outback Bowl. Penn State finished fourth place in the B1G East.
